When siphon-fed is the right choice

Fast material changes — pop the cup off, swap fluids, keep going. Ideal for shops running multiple colors or products through the day.
See what's in the cup — clear or metal cups let the sprayer track fluid level so they don't run out mid-panel.
Cost-effective — no pressure pot, no compressor plumbing beyond the gun's own air line. Great starter setup or backup gun.
Full flexibility on fluid position — works spraying downward at any angle (unlike gravity which requires the cup above the gun).
Refinish, touch-up, small production runs — auto body, furniture, metal fab, cabinet work, and general shop use.

When to choose something else

Continuous high-volume production → use a pressure-fed spray gun with a remote pot or pump so you're not stopping to refill
Fine finish + material efficiency → gravity-feed HVLP guns put more paint on the target and less in the air
Overhead work → gravity or pressure feed — a siphon gun can't spray straight up because the fluid can't defy gravity to reach the tip
