FAQ

What Honda engine does the V 5900 use?
The Graco LineLazer V 5900 is powered by a Honda GX200 gas engine (higher displacement than the 3900's GX160 to support the higher pressure output). 10W-30 or 5W-30 oil, capacity about 0.6 quart, oil change every 50 hours.

What's the difference between the V 5900 and V 5900 HP?
The V 5900 HP is the "High Performance" variant with a different pump assembly optimized for high-flow multi-gun striping (up to 4 guns simultaneously) and heavier daily throughput. Guns, tips, hoses, and engine parts interchange between the two; pump components do not.

My V 5900 pump packings are leaking — do I rebuild or replace?
A pump rebuild kit is the cheaper first step and usually restores full performance if the piston rod is undamaged. If you're seeing scoring on the pump chamber walls or the piston rod, replace the pump assembly rather than rebuilding — a compromised chamber will chew through fresh packings quickly.

How do I identify which V 5900 generation I have?
The Graco model number is on the ID plate on the frame near the engine mount. Match that number to Graco's part lookup or use it as the search term in your owner's manual — different production years shipped with different pump models, so the model number is what determines correct replacement parts.
