The Pirate Brand 999-8040-130PB is a portable Soda Storm soda blasting machine with a 3.5 cu ft (100 liter) vessel, a 150 PSI pressure hold system and pneumatic controls. It is built for operators who need low-pressure, regulated blasting with soda media, and it ships as a package with the 55' twinline control hose, control handle and the pot's valves and piping already assembled.
How It Works
Abrasive is loaded through the opening in the top of the vessel, where the pop-up and its seat are located, and settles to the bottom, where it exits through the multi-port fixed orifice sleeve in the metering valve. With the blow-down valve closed, opening the inlet valve lets compressed air flow through the moisture separator/filter and pressure regulator into the vessel, sealing the pop-up and pressurizing the pot. When the control handle is activated, the auto air valve and metering valve open, air and abrasive mix, and the mixture leaves through the blast hose and nozzle connected to the metering valve. Inlet pressure of at least 90 PSI is required, and the pressure regulator is used to blast at lower pressures.
This is a pressure hold system. When the control handle is released, the vessel stays filled with compressed air. To release that air, close the inlet valve by hand and open the blow-down valve by hand. With the multi-port sleeve, you can use differential pressure to help the abrasive flow: partially close the differential pressure gate valve until the differential pressure gauge reads slightly lower than the vessel pressure gauge. The vibrator can also be used to aid abrasive flow.

Air & Abrasive Requirements
Supply cool, dry, debris-free compressed air and do not exceed 150 PSI at the blaster. Do not exceed 125 PSI when using blast hose with nylon nozzle holders or couplings. This machine is not for use in all cabinet applications and requires a large dust collector; contact us before purchasing for cabinet use.
