The Pirate Brand 888-0034-00812PB is a 160 cu ft (4,531 liter), 8-ton SPH bulk abrasive blast machine (sandblast pot) with pneumatic controls. It is built for industrial and contract blasting jobs where a large abrasive load means fewer refills, and it is an aftermarket replacement that fits Schmidt Manufacturing (Axxiom) equipment and replaces Schmidt (Axxiom) 0034-008-12.
How It Works
The SPH is a pressure hold system with automatic metering valves. Abrasive is loaded through the closure at the top of the vessel and flows to the bottom, where it leaves through the metering valve when blasting starts. To pressurize, the blow-down valve must be closed and the top closure properly sealed. When your compressor is connected and the inlet valve is opened, compressed air passes through the moisture separator and fills the vessel. Squeezing the pneumatic dead-man control handle opens the automatic air valve and metering valve, so air and abrasive mix and exit through the blast hose and nozzle. When you release the handle, blasting stops but the vessel stays pressurized. To depressurize, close the inlet valve by hand and open the blow-down valve by hand.
