The Pirate Brand 888-0033-00812PB is an SPH bulk abrasive blast machine (sandblast pot) with a 160 cu ft (4,531 liter) capacity, about 8 tons of abrasive, and pneumatic controls. It is built for large industrial blasting jobs where a high-capacity, pressure hold machine means fewer refills. It is a Pirate Brand replacement for the Schmidt 0033-008-12 and fits Schmidt Manufacturing (Axxiom) equipment.
How It Works
The SPH is a pressure hold system with normally closed valves. Abrasive is loaded through the closure at the top of the vessel and flows down to the metering valve at the bottom. To pressurize, close the blow-down valve and the top closure, connect your compressed air source, and open the inlet valve. Air passes through the moisture separator and fills the vessel. When the operator squeezes the control handle, the automatic air valve and the automatic metering valve open, and air and abrasive mix and exit through the blast hose and nozzle. When the handle is released, blasting stops but the vessel stays pressurized. To depressurize, manually close the inlet valve and open the blow-down valve.
