The Pirate Brand 888-0032-13812PB is a 160 cu ft (4,531 liter, 8 ton) SPH PINCH bulk abrasive blast machine with 12 VDC electric controls. It is built for contractors and industrial blasting operations that need a large abrasive reserve for long production runs. It is a bulk machine that ships without a mount, so you choose the trailer, skid, or leg extension mount separately. It also fits Schmidt Manufacturing (Axxiom) abrasive blasting equipment.
How It Works
This is a pressure hold system: the vessel stays filled with compressed air when the control handle is released. Abrasive is loaded through the closure assembly at the top and flows down to the bottom of the vessel, where it exits through the metering valve when blasting starts. When the air source is connected and turned on, the emergency air tank pressurizes and the pinch valves close. Opening the inlet valve lets air flow through the moisture separator and fill the pressure vessel. When the operator activates the control handle, the pinch valve opens and the air and abrasive mixture flows out through the blast hose and nozzle. When the handle is released, the pinch valve closes and the vessel stays pressurized. To depressurize, manually close the inlet valve and open the blow-down valve. The emergency air tank holds a reserve of compressed air to close the pinch valves if the compressor fails.

Air & Abrasive Requirements
Supply only cool, dry, debris-free compressed air to the blaster, and do not exceed 150 psi. Moisture or debris that reaches the remote control system can create an unsafe condition. Electrically controlled blasters must be connected to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) and should not be used in wet environments.
