The Pirate Brand 888-0032-00812PB is an SPH bulk abrasive blast machine (sandblast pot) with a 160 cu ft (4,531 liter) capacity, roughly 8 tons of abrasive, and pneumatic controls. It is built for contractors and industrial blasting crews who want to run long stretches without stopping to refill. It is an aftermarket replacement made by Forecast Sales to fit Schmidt Manufacturing (Axxiom) equipment and replaces Schmidt (Axxiom) 0032-008-12.
How It Works
The SPH is a pressure hold system with normally closed valves. Abrasive is loaded through the closure at the top of the vessel and flows down to the bottom, where it exits through the metering valve when blasting starts. To pressurize, the blow-down valve is closed, the top closure is properly sealed, and the air source is connected and the inlet valve opened. Compressed air then passes through the moisture separator and fills the vessel. When the operator squeezes the control handle, the automatic air valve and metering valve open, and air and abrasive mix and travel through the blast hose to the nozzle. When the handle is released, blasting stops but the vessel stays pressurized. To depressurize, manually close the inlet valve and open the blow-down valve.
