The EMAX Silent Air Industrial ESPR07V080V3-208 is a 7.5 HP, two-stage piston air compressor delivering 31 CFM with a maximum pressure of 175 PSI, mounted on an 80-gallon vertical tank. It runs on 208V 3-phase power and pairs EMAX's patented Silent Air™ noise suppression with a pressure-lubricated, cast iron pump, an automatic tank drain, and aftercoolers. It is built for shops that need a quieter compressor for high-stress, continuous-duty environments.
Silent Air™ Noise Suppression
Up to 50% Quieter: The patented Silent Air™ silencer system achieves up to 50% quieter operation, with noise levels at or below conversational volume. Each 10 dBA drop equals a 50% reduction to the human ear.
Intake Noise Control: The system targets intake noise, the loudest source of compressor sound. It uses noise-reducing baffle plates and high-capacity filter media, with up to 1000% more filtration than standard setups.
Service-Friendly Design: Unlike enclosed cabinet systems, which are costly and restrict service access, the Silent Air™ silencer is cost-effective, easy to service, and doesn't compromise accessibility.
Pressure-Lubricated Two-Stage Pump
Gear-Driven Oil Pump: A gear oil pump mounted to the rear of the crankshaft generates positive oil pressure. It delivers a continuous flow of oil to each bearing point, reducing friction, wear, and heat while keeping bearings cool.
Rifle-Drilled Oil Passages: The crankshaft and connecting rods are rifle-drilled so oil flows directly to bearings, the piston pin, and other high-friction wear points.
Spin-On Oil Filter: An automotive-style spin-on oil filter keeps oil clean and simplifies maintenance during oil changes.
Oil Pressure Gauge: An analog pressure gauge lets operators monitor oil pressure accurately.
Long Pump Life: The APP4V1043TP two-stage pump runs at 590 RPM and carries an estimated pump life of 70,000 hours.
Cast Iron Construction & Rebuildable Components
Cast Iron Major Components: The crankcase, cylinder heads, cylinders, connecting rods, crankshaft, and high-pressure piston are all cast iron. Cast iron offers durability and rigidity that aluminum components do not.
Cast Iron High-Pressure Pistons: These pistons are designed to withstand heavy loads and prevent cylinder scoring and pump failure.
Aluminum Low-Pressure Pistons: The low-pressure pistons are aluminum for balance and efficiency, since they operate under low stress (about 45 PSI).
CNC-Machined Connecting Rods: The solid cast iron connecting rods maintain strength at the crankshaft end, where aluminum rods commonly fail.
Fully Rebuildable: Replaceable bearing inserts and wrist pins allow the connecting rod assembly to be fully rebuilt rather than thrown away.
Four-Ring Piston Design: Two oil control rings remove excess oil on the downstroke, and two overlapping compression rings seal under compression to prevent blow-by. Together they reduce oil carryover and extend ring life.
Non-Oil-Absorbent Gaskets: These gaskets minimize oil leakage and reduce maintenance requirements.
Drive System
20" Cast Iron Flywheel: The 7.5 HP model uses a heavy-duty 20" flywheel with 9 large cooling fins. Its added mass generates greater kinetic energy, which reduces amp draw and lowers energy consumption.
Dual B-Groove Belts: Two B-style groove belts provide a larger contact surface area, which extends belt life.
Belt Tensioner & Pump Riser: The unit comes equipped with a belt tensioner and a pump riser.
Electrical & Controls
Power Requirements: The compressor runs on 208V (+/- 10%) 3-phase power. Full load amps are 20.47 (with 1.15 service factor), and the recommended breaker is 40 amps.
Starting Amps: Peak starting amps and locked rotor amps are both 132.
TEFC Motor: The totally enclosed fan-cooled motor runs at 1740 RPM.
Magnetic Starter: A magnetic starter is included, with a fixed start type.
