Made with premium Silicon Carbide abrasive grains, the T34026 60-Grit 3" x 79" Sanding Belts are a great choice for grinding, shaping, and maintaining sharp metal edges.
Silicon Carbide abrasive is known for its exceptional ability to produce smooth and consistent results in polishing, grinding, and intricate detail work. It's also commonly used for sanding non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites due to its heat resistance and low clogging tendency.
A 60-grit sandpaper is a moderately coarse abrasive that strikes a balance between material removal and surface refinement. It is often used for initial shaping, removing heavy coatings, and addressing moderate imperfections.
It is important to sequence your sanding from a lower number to a higher number without bypassing more than one grit. Doing so may not remove the marks from the rougher grit.
The 3" x 79" size is ideal for use on knife grinders–especially on the Grizzly G0489G0952 and the G0972.
Within the belt thickness rating system, the X-weight backing extremely heavy-duty cloth is used for tough application.
Built to last, the added strength of this backing ensures that the belt stays in place and doesn't wear out too quickly, even with heavy use.
The combination of a robust backing and aggressive abrasive grains makes it suitable for removing material quickly and efficiently.
