It is important to sequence your sanding from a lower number to a higher number without bypassing more than one grit. Doing so may not remove the marks from the rougher grit.

The 3" x 79" size is ideal for use on knife grinders–especially on the Grizzly G0972 Belt Knife Grinder.

Within the belt thickness rating system, the Y-weight backing that gives the sanding belt its structure is the most heavy-duty.

Built to last, the added strength of this backing ensures that the belt stays in place and doesn't wear out too quickly, even with heavy use.

The Y-weight backing has the most strength to withstand the pressure of heavy sanding and product removal, can be run in either direction, and is flexible for easy contouring and shaping of your knife edges.
