Grizzly's Premium No. 9-1/2 Block Plane is small enough that you can easily hold it in one hand while planing end grain and small workpieces.

What makes this plane unique is the cutting iron rests at 20° with an upward facing bevel, as opposed to 45° with a downward facing bevel as found on other planes.

The low angle, combined with the upward-facing bevel makes this block plane extremely effective at cutting difficult end grain—because it reduces tear-out.

In addition, the adjustable throat allows you to keep the opening tight for fine shavings. Or you can open it up for rough work. An important adjustment to support your various planing needs.

The body is made of precision-machined cast iron with a smooth finish and clean edges. Adjustments are easy and precise. And it comes in a custom Grizzly box for safekeeping.
